Blissful Beaches in The Dominican Republic

Blissful beaches he Dominican Republic Itinerary - 50 Shades of Blue Water!
Blissful Beaches in The Dominican Republic
Playita in Las Galeras

Playa Rincon – Playa Frontón – Playa Bonita

As a traveler and a pure beach girl at heart. I’m always on the lookout for pristine beaches and fun hideaways. I love to enjoy the sun and the relaxed atmosphere of being away in the palms. I present ThreeBlissful Beaches in The Dominican Republic: Playa Rincon & Playa Frontón are close to Las Galeras. Playa Bonita is close to Las Terrenas.

Being away from life, exploring, and staying in the moment, is very satisfying. Sitting in the car with strangers and seeing the palms in the window. Salty wind touching my face is a deep inhale of happiness and puts a smile on my face. Being out in the world gives me those butterflies of excitement.

Island Paradise is Always a Great Plan: Las Galeras

In Madrid, I was meeting people from all over the world. I loved hanging out with my friend from the Dominican Republic. Jose told me about his magical island that is completely covered in palms, white beaches, crystal clear blue waters, and no worries. Sounded like a true paradise in my ear. That was his Island: the Dominican Republic.

Paulinetravels, the explorer went all in to find tickets for the Dominican Republic. I advise you to have at least 12 days exploring the Island or even more if you can!

A Small Travel Advice for the Adventurous

If you are smart about visiting the Dominican Republic: Go to other places than Punta Cana. Nothing wrong with Punta Cana If you want to get in more touch with the island, go north and go around. That area in North remained relatively untouched by the masses and full of fun people and gorgeous beaches.

12 Days on The Island Itinerary

I love those crazy adventures where you don’t know what’s happening next do I get there? Or do I go somewhere else? That’s how the flow is in the Dominican Republic. Everything happens when it happens not before and not after, now is now, and enjoy it!

Las Galeras in Samaná the Heart of the Dominican Republic

After traveling from Norway to Florida. I went further on to the Dominican Republic. Which is three hours away from Forth Lauderdale by airplane. Then I grabbed a taxi. Then a bus to Samaná. And then a local shared car to sleepy Las Galeras. A beach town surrounded by some of the best beaches in the Dominican Republic.

In Las Galeras, I stayed at Le BDM PLAYITA. A perfect location with great care for guests visiting the town. Another great place would be Hotel TODOBLANCO.

Teetering in the Unknown in The Dominican Republic

Arriving at the Las Galeras right when the sun went down and darkness started covering the street. I kinda started wondering where did I put myself this time? In the middle of nowhere. Because I could only see tiny houses and not much going on in the street, which is strange when being in Latin America.

And now only two men in the cars talking about how they want their women to be. Did they forget me in the back? I kinda understand Spanish. In the end, they were kind and dropped me off right at my guesthouse. Where I got warmly welcomed by Sabrina, a french expect living her time in Las Galeras.

An Adventure Waiting to Happen in Las Galeras

The next morning, I went for Playita, and then nothing cool was happening. I was just listening to music and watching people enjoying the somehow cloudy beach with not much sun coming in. A bit disappointed on my first day, but still happy for being traveling. I decided to go back to the guesthouse and talk with long-termers, that told me they loved Las Galeras, I was not sure about that.

Then when you are bored and traveling alone, you have to create your own fun! By that I went exploring the one street of Las Galeras, to find some food and maybe some other cool travelers.

Citizens of the World

On the street or almost in the ditch of the road, there was a small kitchen created for the streets. I take a look at the food and the cleanness of what’s going on and then, I ordered the two best tortillas of my life with everything. Then I was not bored anymore, I had encountered another citizen of the world.

The guy was from Mexico and now living in the Dominican Republic, and he had lived many years in Switzerland. However, he was now trying to find his next move. Due to some changes not being able to work in the cruise industry more. Suddenly there were three new people at my table, thanks to my new friend from Mexico, helping out a solo traveler from being bored. For me traveling is about exploring the place, but also talking to the people and understanding the citizens of the world, that you meet when traveling.

A Small Table with Great Plans for Exploring: Blissful Beaches in The Dominican Republic

My new table friends were Sally from the UK, Luca from Italy and Ian from Canada. An interesting mash-up of people, everyone was there for different reasons, then we all collided together on this table in the street of nowhere in the small heart of Las Galeras. Then we created our first expedition together for the next days.

After the dinner, we moved to the local bar and the only bar where things are going down. Then we talked to Andre, which was Sally’s tour guide for hiking to Frontón Beach that day. Andrea is the best Dj, best guide, best football player, the best driver of scooters and boats on the Island. Andre is the man to hire for any adventure happening in Las Galeras, he is the best. We got our deal to get to Playa Rincón for the next day!

Beautiful Beaches in The Dominican Republic

We all managed to agree on being ready around 09.00 to explore the beautiful beach of Playa Rincón. Which was an amazing experience from the town of Las Galeras.

Mom, you can’t read this, stop now! We grouped up on the scooter, which means, the driver, Ian, and me. A lovely trio on the back of a scooter on the way to Narnia in the Dominican Republic.

I’m shaped by nature. I grew up at the edge of th I’m shaped by nature.

I grew up at the edge of the Stadt peninsula — where the ocean doesn’t negotiate and the wind decides your plans. You learn early to read the sky. To sense the shift before the squall rolls in. To move before the door is pushed open.

The weather isn’t small talk at the coast.
It’s strategy.
It’s timing.
It’s survival.

And the women knew it best.

While the men were at sea, coastal women held everything together — land, livestock, homes, children, community. They didn’t call it resilience. They simply lived it.

They understood something very important that we need to remember well.

You don’t dominate nature.
You collaborate with it.

Today I live in the Lofoten Islands, again surrounded by strong coastal women. Different generation. Same backbone.

To adapt when conditions shift.
To build with the landscape, not against it.
To know when to move — and when to stand firm.

To me, that is a coastal inheritance.

The coast teaches you self-efficacy. Patience. Awareness. Respect.

It shapes women who know that sustainability isn’t about control — it’s about relationship.

And that’s the spirit I carry into my work, my travels, and the future I’m building.

Thank you @dino.serrao for capturing my coastal spirit in this portrait.
2025 was rich in good memories, wonderful times wi 2025 was rich in good memories, wonderful times with family and friends! It went so fast! Many highlights this year! And many great hikes even in Lofoten and Sunnmøre!

2025, I have used less time on my phone more flight mode, more with just being. It will continue onward for 2026. I’m still traveling and doing many mini adventures. Mostly being with loved ones.

In April we were in Cuba, which always disconnect but reconnect you much better with what matters and the importance of being grateful and appreciating what you have in Life. When we travel, how can we travel well, how do we show up at a destination.

My last international travel this year was Lanzarote, famous for its landscape and architecture. Best of all traveling with my sister. We used public buses, eat at different local places and guided tour to the national park. What an island!

I think one word that has been important this year for me is mindful. Be aware, be curious, ask open questions, reflect more before speaking and listen.

Being in nature is the best gift for human nature. We must visit more often. We must focus on our sleep quality.

I think 2025 have been a year of flowing and protecting my energy on what sparks joy to me. The most limited resource we have is time. How can we live the most happy with the time we have. How can we use our time and energy well.

2025 I’m very grateful for the year it was a blessing filled with love laughters, friendship and some important life reflections and some new changes.

2026, welcome let’s embrace and see where the wind takes us this year!

Wishing you all the very best new year filled with abundance, hope and peace. May the year be as good as you want it to be! Or even better as magical as you want ✨🤩
October disappeared in the blink of an eye! 😃 The October disappeared in the blink of an eye! 😃 The start of the month was breathtaking in Lofoten. We welcomed German travel experts for a MEGAFAM trip in the Lofoten Islands and had a blast connecting with new faces and industry colleagues. Truly amazing!!🤩 #lofoten #lofotenislands #megafam #lofoteninfo #visitnorway
Greece is always a good plan! This time we went is Greece is always a good plan! This time we went island jumping to Skiathos and Skopelos. You know the Mamma Mia Islands 🌞 Also Athens, but next post. I think Skopelos has the clearest water I have seen in Europe. So stunning so pure, wow! So green the Island. Could have been away longer as always, but now living slow cabin life before hitting back North. #islandescape #greece #visitgreece #skiathos #skopelos #islandsofadventure
