Casa en el Agua means house in the water, and that is the perfect description of this little paradise in the middle of the San Bernardo National Park in the ocean off the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
Casa en el Agua the Caribbean Getaway in Colombia
If you need to escape the world also known as the hustle and bustle of life. Then Casa en el Agua is the perfect weekend getaway, only a two-hour boat ride from Cartagena de Indias, the queen of the Caribbean mainland. I recommend staying for the next 48 hours with complete disconnection from the world because you will need the time to enjoy the beauty of the serene environment. Also, no wifi in the house which gives you a free detox. Casa en el Agua is an eco-hostel powered by solar power. Remember to bring a power bank.
When in Paradise Do Nothing
Casa en el Agua is the perfect place to do Nothing. In the next 48 hours, you can perfect the art of doing nothing but only being. You have given yourself a small paradise on the ocean for the next two days. Why not enjoy the lush atmosphere of complete relaxation?
Floating On the Sea, Remember Island Time is NO Time 🙂
Be in the ocean, be in the sun, drink Coco-Loco or lemonade of Coconut and Lime. Snorkel around and enjoy the fishes or float away on your back and enjoy the saltwater and the ocean sounds. Casa en el Agua is all about being in the moment and enjoying the ocean.

My Personal Notes About the Experience
I visited Casa en el Agua when I was exploring Colombia for three months. I have kept Casa en el Agua a secret; I almost feel guilty about going to a place where my only intention was to relax and be tipsy of Coco Loco before midday. I have come to terms: It was an excellent decision. It was 48 hours in pure serenity and tranquility.

Tips and Tricks About Casa en el Agua
The food was fresh seafood – fish, lobsters, octopus, and, crabs; it was not spectacular, but it was decent. I recommend bringing snacks to keep yourself happy during meals, and then you don’t end up Hangry. Also, maybe bring some soda & water to make your living cost less expensive. Casa en el Agua is a unique location in the middle of nowhere and has become super popular due to excellent marketing on Instagram. However, it should definitely be enjoyed and explored when being in Colombia. I think two to three days are the perfect amount for staying off-the-grid. Yes it is not cheap, but the location is unique.
