From Bangkok to Koh Tao

September 4, 2015
From Bangkok to Koh Tao

From Bangkok to Koh Tao you have two options on traveling their, either budget or convenient. The choice is yours. Here they are explained how you can actually preform your choice of preference. I have done them myself, for me it was about money and time, when I decided my choices. I think there is an option number 3, with a boat from Bangkok to Chumphon. I haven’t done that, therefor you have to Google it out by yourself.

7 Great things about Koh Tao

From Bangkok to Koh Tao

When you don’t have to save money

From Bangkok take an airplane to Koh Samui either with Bangkok Airway or Thai Airways – use Skyscanner. Then you arrive in Koh Samui, you have to take a taxi to catch the Lomprayah high-speed catamaran. Make sure you are making it with time, if not you may have to spend a night in Koh Samui. When arriving in Koh Tao at the Pier, you have already done an advance booking or not but just wanna dive,  you will get a ride with your dive center. If not, there will be many other options.

I have done this option on – Vacation.

From Bangkok to Koh Tao

When you have to save money

From Bangkok or from Khaosan Road the famous backpacker street in the universe. Is where you can find a budget friendly option – Overnight bus and ferry with Lomprayah for 1050 baht. Either book in advance an make sure you have your spot for sure or book when you arrive. Make sure to ask them what time the bus leaves. The office is surrounded with bars and restaurants, so you can easily get something to eat and phones charged before leaving Bangkok. You can get something that helps you sleep better at night, like a bucket or a beer. The buses are totally okay – you are not going to have your best sleep, but you are going to reach the destination while sleeping. Make sure to have a blanket, earplugs and eye mask. Somewhere in the night there will also be a food – toilet break stop. Remember to have toilet paper in your bag – wherever you go. It just makes life easier.

Arriving to Chumphon and still sleeping around 05.30 and then have a good hour wait for the catamaran to arrive. Time to enjoy the sunrise. Then it´s only 1,5 hour trip to Koh Tao. If you get easily sea sickness, take a pill or decided yourself how fun you want to have it. In total this trip take around 16 hours -/+ It´s a cheap option, it goes smooth as well.

I have done this option From Bangkok to Koh Tao and back.  – When Backpacking

Forgetting your phone is easy in Cuba. Forgetting time is easy in Cuba. It’s complicated to let go of the challenge of life, like some places do not have electricity and cellphone service, and gasoline is more challenging than ever and som have very little. However food is always here, as long you are a tourist and can buy food. If you are inventing new recipes you are also good. #cuba #cubatravel #cubaporlavida #travelcuba #cubatrip #havana

Cuba nos vemos pronto 🇨🇺 The Last time we sa Cuba nos vemos pronto 🇨🇺 The Last time we saw each other was in 2023, and the first time was in 2019, right before COVID-19 and the island was closed down. I have always been fascinated by Cuba. It is a place where you become much more aware of how much you have and how lucky you are with all your things. It teaches you to be happy about simpler things, it teaches you to be present, and most of all, to go with the flow. Traveling to Cuba is different but beautiful. #cuba #visitcuba #havana #cubatravel #meaningfultravel
