7 Hip Places to Visit in Oslo

7 HIP PLACES TO VISIT IN OSLO IN 2019

Oslo from being a small capital in Scandinavia to being something that is popping and growing in every corner. I love visiting those hip places, you maybe would not discover yourself when visiting a place, and by this, I have created a list of 7 Hip places to visit in Oslo, they are places I have discovered after my return from living one year in Madrid. Rediscovering my city has been great. There are many cool things going on! Let’s hope that they are Hip enough for Oslo and you!

The Opera House is Not a Hip Place to Visit in Oslo

1. Talor & Jørgen

If you want a divine sugar kick, you should visit Talor & Jørgen. First of all, they are pouring their heart into the work and craft needed to deliver some of the most delicious and heartwarming doughnuts in Norway. Let’s not forget the coffee, it is on another level. If you haven’t got it by now Norwegians love coffee. Norwegian’s are the world’s biggest consumers of the dark stuff after our lovely neighbors from Finland. I would recommend a crispy salty caramel popcorn doughnuts and a cappuccino or maybe just black for the real taste of the coffee beans. After that snack, you can survive some hours!

Talor Browne is a coffee roaster, barista, pastry chef, writer and Q grader with over 15 years experience in the specialty coffee industry. Born in a rural Victorian town in Australia.

Jørgen Hansrud has trained over 300 baristas in his 10 year career in the coffee industry. He is, but not limited to: a barista, pianist, singer, and a choir conductor. While serving as a Brand Manager for Steam Kaffebar: he facilitated the opening of 4 distinct locations, last 5 years.

2. Esaias Winbar

If you want to get an introduction to natural wines and the many heavens of that universe, visit Esaias. Natural wine bar championing small producers and artisans in the very center of Oslo

3. LUCK OSLO

If you want something unique with a luxurious design, LUCK is the place to go! Selection of interiors, jewelry, clothing, plants, and books. I love that LUCK has that tropical flavor, finally some colors and life into the ordinary grey shades of Oslo. Some brands are Marni, JW Anderson, Diemme and Drôle de Monsieur. There are prices in different variables.

4. HIMKOK

Finally, a proper place to get the perfect Gin Cocktail, or should I rather say a piece of art in a glass? If you can’t afford to eat at Maaemo which is number 35 out of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in the world. Then you can have a cocktail at HIMKOM which is number 19 in the world when it comes to The World’s 50 Best Bars Cocktails. HIMKOK is a craft distillery with award-winning cocktails and a perfect showcasing of the Norwegian flavors in the tastiest way!

5. Supreme Roastworks

Why drink poor coffee? When yo can drink Supreme coffee? Nothing better than starting the day with a great cup of coffee. It can actually save the rest of the day. The co-Owner Odd- Steiner Tollefsen are the 2015 World Brewers Cup Champion, by this say yes to a cup of excellence at a place that is more hospitable than your auntie.

6. Miss Sophie

I haven’t been there yet, but I want to! I want to go there for Brunch! Most likely a Champagne Brunch. I love a place that can make magic out of brunch. Those places understand my cravings and the concept of tasting a bit of everything. We need more brunch places in Oslo, but happy the see that Miss Sophie is in town!

Other cool places to check out for food in Oslo are Cantina Mexican Street Food and for more Norwegian flavor try out Arakataka, which is more fine dining. Also feel free to read 7 places to eat in Frogner in Oslo. Or 7 places to eat the best burger in town.

7. Territoriet

When you want to travel the world, but are in Oslo then Territoriet is the place to discover. Territoriet can take you around the world, but in a glass of wine. I mostly love traveling to Argentina and Malbec, but sometimes I go to Spain and drink Tempranillo. They have 400 wines and you can have them all on glass or bottles how you choose. This is an opportunity to taste wine that maybe would be to expansive because of the bottle price, but now becomes more affordably in a glass price.

7 Hip Places to Visit in Oslo

The hip places to visit in Oslo are some of my local inside tips for visiting the city and seeing a bit more than just the tourist scene of Oslo. Do not take me wrong, the sculpture park is a beautiful sight, but when you want to have a break, do not just end up in Karl Johan, because that is not the charming side of Oslo. Go and explore neighborhoods, small coffee shops, and intimate wine-bars and find the place where you can hear Norwegians as well as English, to get an authentic feeling of the Vikings from Norway.

A Norwegian Travel Voice & Trying to Impact the World by Nudging People to Choose More Sustainable Travel.

I’m shaped by nature. I grew up at the edge of th I’m shaped by nature.

I grew up at the edge of the Stadt peninsula — where the ocean doesn’t negotiate and the wind decides your plans. You learn early to read the sky. To sense the shift before the squall rolls in. To move before the door is pushed open.

The weather isn’t small talk at the coast.
It’s strategy.
It’s timing.
It’s survival.

And the women knew it best.

While the men were at sea, coastal women held everything together — land, livestock, homes, children, community. They didn’t call it resilience. They simply lived it.

They understood something very important that we need to remember well.

You don’t dominate nature.
You collaborate with it.

Today I live in the Lofoten Islands, again surrounded by strong coastal women. Different generation. Same backbone.

To adapt when conditions shift.
To build with the landscape, not against it.
To know when to move — and when to stand firm.

To me, that is a coastal inheritance.

The coast teaches you self-efficacy. Patience. Awareness. Respect.

It shapes women who know that sustainability isn’t about control — it’s about relationship.

And that’s the spirit I carry into my work, my travels, and the future I’m building.

Thank you @dino.serrao for capturing my coastal spirit in this portrait.
2025 was rich in good memories, wonderful times wi 2025 was rich in good memories, wonderful times with family and friends! It went so fast! Many highlights this year! And many great hikes even in Lofoten and Sunnmøre!

2025, I have used less time on my phone more flight mode, more with just being. It will continue onward for 2026. I’m still traveling and doing many mini adventures. Mostly being with loved ones.

In April we were in Cuba, which always disconnect but reconnect you much better with what matters and the importance of being grateful and appreciating what you have in Life. When we travel, how can we travel well, how do we show up at a destination.

My last international travel this year was Lanzarote, famous for its landscape and architecture. Best of all traveling with my sister. We used public buses, eat at different local places and guided tour to the national park. What an island!

I think one word that has been important this year for me is mindful. Be aware, be curious, ask open questions, reflect more before speaking and listen.

Being in nature is the best gift for human nature. We must visit more often. We must focus on our sleep quality.

I think 2025 have been a year of flowing and protecting my energy on what sparks joy to me. The most limited resource we have is time. How can we live the most happy with the time we have. How can we use our time and energy well.

2025 I’m very grateful for the year it was a blessing filled with love laughters, friendship and some important life reflections and some new changes.

2026, welcome let’s embrace and see where the wind takes us this year!

Wishing you all the very best new year filled with abundance, hope and peace. May the year be as good as you want it to be! Or even better as magical as you want ✨🤩
October disappeared in the blink of an eye! 😃 The October disappeared in the blink of an eye! 😃 The start of the month was breathtaking in Lofoten. We welcomed German travel experts for a MEGAFAM trip in the Lofoten Islands and had a blast connecting with new faces and industry colleagues. Truly amazing!!🤩 #lofoten #lofotenislands #megafam #lofoteninfo #visitnorway
Greece is always a good plan! This time we went is Greece is always a good plan! This time we went island jumping to Skiathos and Skopelos. You know the Mamma Mia Islands 🌞 Also Athens, but next post. I think Skopelos has the clearest water I have seen in Europe. So stunning so pure, wow! So green the Island. Could have been away longer as always, but now living slow cabin life before hitting back North. #islandescape #greece #visitgreece #skiathos #skopelos #islandsofadventure
