I was in Santiago de Chile for three days, and I have to say it was an okay city. Maybe not my favorite. Then I didn’t have time to fall in love with the city either. I went on a city walking tour, which is always a great way to get to know a new city. We walked around in different Neighborhoods and got the feeling of the Santiago City life.
I think my favorite things in the city was cheap sushi, the viewing point at the city mountain – San Cristobal Hill, and Bellavista Barrio with the selection of restaurants and nightlife. The best trip was the winery of the famous Castillo de Diablo, perfect for a mid-day trip with some wine and great scenery.
What I didn’t like was the metro, people were a bit more touchy than they are in Buenos Aires. I did survive, and people are not afraid to give you a push. Anyway, I have to come back to Santiago and visit more wineries and Valparaíso. A big thanks to Juan that let me hang out with him and his friends in Santiago for the night. Last time I was hanging out with Juan was in Great Barrier Reef in Australia 2014. It was fun to be in his home city and see him in his environment — also greatly thank you for the ride to the airport. The fun part was that I had a big mac and got upgraded to First Class by Avianca to Peru. A girl has to have luck sometimes.
