Solo Female Traveler in South America

June 26, 2015
152 Days with Adventures Traveling in South America as a Solo Female Traveler. Many memories have been captured, and new friendship started. I visited Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador - Galápagos, Belize, and Mexico.

Solo Female Traveler in South America was a great experience, and my traveling is continuing. I´m back in Fort Lauderdale, where the adventure started this January 23rd. That is 3 648 hours ago. Time is going fast, and new experiences have been captured. What did I do in all this time traveling? I had a fantastic time with great adventures. I got to see breathtaking sites in the world and explore new cultures, new language and meeting new people. I´m blessed to have this opportunity in my life. I did work extremely hard to have this adventure (many hours at work and saving money everywhere).

Solo Female Traveler in South America

with 152 Days of Traveling

Traveling South America as a Solo Female Traveler, was a great experience where I visited Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador – Galápagos, Belize, Mexico and last, is the United States of America. Getting exhausted by thinking about it, because I feel that; I just reached the finished line with this travel. Now I see this way of traveling not as a vacation, but an education. It is not a vacation to change place every four night and run around making sure you are exploring the beautiful sites and forcing yourself continuously listen to a new language as well as being happy because you’re traveling and meeting awesome people from all over the world. That is a great privilege, but I wouldn’t call it a vacation. It is a colorful experience and a great adventure. It´s traveling on a significant scale.

Understand me right; I love to travel. It makes me feel unbelievable free and empowered by doing it; the fact that I did this travel solo is, even more, empowering for me. Traveling is beautiful, but it is also a challenge, and sometimes it requires a lot of you as a person. Every travel will give you some growing and learning. Sometimes you can get tired as in any other job. Here are some famous part of my journey as well as the heightened part as a solo female traveler in South America!

The Crazy Part of 152 Days Traveling

As a Solo Female Traveler in South America

Ending up at Hospital in Peru – Traveling with food allergy, is a challenge. Bought my credit card got copied in ATM – Then they were closed. Norwegian bank, being stupid! Not sending new credit cards to me. Carry around 1500 US cash in my pocket – after money transfer Seeing people being stupid with money over safety in diving. Seeing a girl get her life rescued in the Blue Hole in Belize. Whale shark tour – with no whales, only evacuation to another boat, since our both were taking in the water fast and halfway to Cuba. On the way to Cancun Airport, our Bus crashed into another car.

South America as a Solo Female Traveler

Is not a problem, yes to have to take care as you have done in any other countries. What I do love about South America, is there is a very tranquil atmosphere traveling, and everyone is more or less moving along perfectly fine. After almost nine months of traveling around in South America, they only bad accident that I did meet was a taxi driver’s that taught they could ask me sexist questions, but hi, then the taxi ride was over, and someone else got my money. That’s why I also sometimes like ûber because you can rate the driver! Other than that, I felt very safe in South America, of course, I was not hanging around in the big cities at 03.00 outside walking around in the streets. I was never drunk, I was tipsy yes, but never drunk! Always stay alert and aware of your surroundings, and you will be fine as in any other countries in the world.

First time traveling solo? I would recommend reading these seven significant bits of advice about going first time as a solo female traveler. The information will get the most critical parts correctly for the first time traveling solo.

Forgetting your phone is easy in Cuba. Forgetting time is easy in Cuba. It’s complicated to let go of the challenge of life, like some places do not have electricity and cellphone service, and gasoline is more challenging than ever and som have very little. However food is always here, as long you are a tourist and can buy food. If you are inventing new recipes you are also good. #cuba #cubatravel #cubaporlavida #travelcuba #cubatrip #havana
