7 Unique Places to Stay in Norway
Raw Nature and Scenic Landscape
Lately, I have had severe cravings for disappearing into nature and being as close to nature as possible when traveling. In Norway, we love the concept of having the environment as close as possible to our living arrangements. For me, this is a tribute to all the great and unique places to stay in Norway that deliver an outstanding nature experience while traveling.
1. Manshausen Island, Seacabins at Stegien close to Bodø
If you want a dream location and the perfect Scandinavian design for your Norwegian vacation, then stop at Manshausen Island and enjoy your days in these beautiful surroundings. Start daydreaming between fjords and mountains. The best part of the cabin is that it has large glass windows. You can still enjoy the great scenery of nature even if the weather is playing with the elements of mother nature.
Manshausen Island is a perfect destination for Northern Norway and road-tripping in Lofoten.

2. Juvet, Landscape Hotel close to Ålesund & Geirangerfjord
Another unique place to stay in Norway is Juvet, a landscape hotel surrounded by lush green forests and nature at every corner. Juvet is the place to go if you need to charge your battery and disappear from the world and society for a moment. Give yourself a moment to be utterly alone by nature, and let only birds give you company.
Juvet Landscape Hotel is perfect for staying if you are traveling around in the heart of Fjord Norway, in the area of the world-famous Geiranger Fjord, Hjørund Fjord, and the Troll Ladder.
Another more budget alternative: is Valldal Fjordhotell by Classic Norway Hotels.
3. Sakris Island, Fisherman Cabins at Lofoten Islands
Sakris Island is one of many unique places to stay in Norway. When it comes to showcasing an essential part of Norwegian history, here, the fisherman baited their longlines, repaired their nets, cooked their food, ate, and slept. The fisherman cabin still has much of the old atmosphere retained but has been updated regarding modern comfort demands.
I was lucky enough to stay at Sakris Island when I was touring Lofoten Island with my family on a road trip from the coast of Helgeland to Lofoten.
If you are traveling around in Lofoten, I highly recommend a night or two at Nusfjord Arctic Resort.
4. Skåla 1848 meters above the Fjord in Fjord Norway
Skåla is maybe the highest and a unique place to stay in Norway. To reach your bed for the night requires a 5-hour hike from the bottom of the fjord to the top of the mountain. Skaala is the highest mountain in Northern Europe, having its foot in the fjord. You can spend the night on the top of the mountain if you are adventurous or hike down on the same day and maybe spend a night at Hotel Alexandra if you want a more luxurious stay in Loen.
How to Perform: the Hike to Skåla
In 1891 the local people built a round tower with 22-bed places for a stayover. The instigator was Hans Henrik Gerhard Kloumann, an educated doctor with convalescence for body and soul as a vision for the building.
5. Secret Hideaway in Tunheimsfjora in Western Norway
Escape tourism embracing nature is what Tunheimsfjora delivers when it comes to staying in a unique place in Norway. I’m very proud of Tunheimsfjora due to being in my region of Norway. If you want pure natural beauty, Tunheimsfjora is the place to stay.
Tunheimsfjora is close to the furious Stad Ocean and one of the best surfing spots in Norway: Hoddevika. It is also close to the family farm Hakallegarden, where children can cuddle and get close to the animals on the farm. Furthermore, Tunheimsfjora is excellent if you want to go fishing, kayaking, or hiking. Tunheimsfjora is also close to the famous hike Ytre Fure at Stad.
6. Trevarefabrikken in Lofoten Islands
Trevarefabkrikken in English: a wooden factory is a unique place in Henningsvær in one of the urban and hip fishing villages of Lofoten. Trevarefabrikken is a new and unique concept of young people working together and creating a whole idea of living, traveling, and creating. I have followed this company from the beginning and like to see their new creations as the months pass by. Trevarefabrikken is continuously growing and developing; if you are an open-minded soul and ready to see what the fuzz is about, I highly recommend checking out Trevarefabrikken if you are road-tripping around in Lofoten. You should also read about the three hikes in Lofoten that I recommend.
7. Hotel Brosundet & The Magic of Fjord Norway in Ålesund
Hotel Brosundet is in a city but in Norway’s most beautiful city, which is Ålesund. The city of Art Nouveau, and the entrance of the heart of Fjord Norway with Geiranger Fjord and Hjørund Fjord. And then with the possibility to visit Christian Gard at Trandal with the famous Swing that went viral on the web.
The best location in Ålesund is Hotel Brosundet, which is outstanding and placed right by the water. By this, if you are lucky, you can maybe catch fish right out of your window. Brosundet has done a fantastic job when it comes to pulling together a great travel experience. The Hotel Brosundet is part of 62 NORD, an event company, and they offer the highest level of personal service, designed to host an unforgettable experience.
If you want an utterly extraordinary experience, you should stay in the lighthouse of Molja at the harbor of Ålesund.

Comment
Accommodation would always be a problem for those who are planning to go a vacation many have to compensate for a tourist place to the expense of a hotel stay as they don’t tend to do proper homework and end up paying bug prices by skipping some places.
